Early Life and Education
Ann "Muffet" McGraw was born on 5th December 1955 in Pennsylvania, Pottsville as Ann O'Brien along with seven other siblings. McGraw changed her name legally to Muffet which was her nickname as a child. She attended and graduated from Joseph University where she was a brief player in professional women's basketball.

Muffet McGraw met her husband while in college. They tied the knot shortly after she graduated and have a son together.
Career
Muffet was born in Pennsylvania, Pottsville. She graduated college from St. Joseph University and temporarily partook in professional women's basketball in California. Later on, she instructed at Archbishop Carroll HS between 1977 and 1979 and was employed as an associate coach at St. Joseph University from 1980 to 1982.
From 1982 to 1987, Muffet worked as a head coach at Lehigh University. Cathy Engelbert was one of her best athletes at Lehigh University.
In 1987 Muffet was appointed head coach at Notre Dame. Between 1987 and 2020, McGraw coached tournament emergence in the 26 NCAA to Irish, counting a line of twenty-four direct seasons between 1995 and 2019.
During the present streak, Notre Dame completed it to the second round in all game appearances but one, including seven game appearances of the championship. McGraw amassed fifty wins above ranked competitors, counting 40 over the last eight seasons.
Her teams were present in the associated press poll 139 times throughout her term. McGraw is the 27th coach in the NCAA account to triumph over five hundred professional games and is the 8th lead trainer in the history of NCAA Division I basketball to attain 800 career victories.
On April 1, 2018, at Notre Dame, McGraw attained her eight hundred career win, with a victory over the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the nationwide Championship match, her 2nd countrywide label by the Fighting Irish.
On December 30, 2018, she added her 900th career victory against Lehigh, where she started her varsity coaching profession in 1982. On April 22, 2020, Muffet declared that she would resign as the Notre Dame’s head coach.
