Kids Activities : Body Image
Lottie dolls as a brand was first developed in 2012 based on research where it was discovered that children were developing body image issues from playing with ultra-thin dolls. Working with academics the team at Lottie developed a doll that is based on the average proportions of a 9-year-old child (the head is slightly larger to allow for hair play) . Since then, Lottie has developed dolls with different ethnicities and abilities including a doll with a cochlear implant, a doll with autism & ADHD, a small person doll, bald dolls for children's cancer charities and a down syndrome doll. The team at Lottie dolls is committed to developing more diverse dolls annually.
